Immigration

NVC Processing

After an I-130 approval, the NVC handles DS-260, the I-864 affidavit of support and civil document upload ahead of the consular interview.

Overview

The National Visa Center (NVC) is the key hub between an approved I-130 petition and the consular interview. Once the priority date becomes current, the NVC issues a fee invoice requiring you to pay the immigrant visa fee, complete Form DS-260 online, submit Form I-864 affidavit of support, and upload civil documents such as birth certificates, marriage certificates and police clearances. Only after the NVC reviews the file as complete is it forwarded to the U.S. consulate for interview scheduling. Incomplete or inconsistent documentation is the most common cause of delay at this stage — we help review and correct everything end to end.

Eligibility Requirements

  • An approved I-130 family or employment petition, with the priority date current
  • A consulate serving the beneficiary's nationality is designated for processing
  • All civil documents (birth, marriage, police clearance) notarized with English translations
  • The U.S. sponsor meets the I-864 income threshold (125% of federal poverty guidelines)
  • Medical exam completed or scheduled as required by the NVC
  • No grounds of inadmissibility (waivers addressed before the interview)

Program Advantages

  • Hands-on tracking of NVC fees, forms and document review to avoid repeated requests
  • Expert proofing of DS-260 information to prevent inconsistencies and delay
  • Guidance on the I-864 affidavit of support to meet minimum income requirements
  • Clear checklists and standardized translations for first-pass NVC review
  • Follow-up on interview scheduling once the file reaches the consulate
